Hey reader,
Came across this from a friend's tumblr page, and it left me thinking...
Tumblr link: IYSA: Judging a person...
Interesting theme in the X-Men films was how people who feared mutants as monsters in turn actually acted as monsters. It's seen throughout history that when people are judged, it's for the worse. It has that negative connotation, unlike passing a compliment - effectively a judement, a view or opinion, of how someone has performed.
Tupac would say, and even had a tattoo stating; "Only God Can Judge Me" and at the end of the day, it's my opinion he's right.
Legal proceedings aside (it's been proven to be a system that has failures, as good as it can be) how can we be the ones to judge another for their actions and being. We could easily be wrong, they could be misunderstood. It happens. I think it's a terrible waste of life when a person idly spends time making opinions of another, which is why I detest gossip columns - the title alone ("gossip") suggests it's not necessarily fact yet... we gotta know about other people.
Gossip - perhaps the most pitiful time-wasting thing we do. Is it worth it? Nah, don't really get nothing out of it. Yet, we do it. What do we get out of passing a judgement of someone? Oscar Wilde once said "true friends stab you in the front" - if you have something to say about someone, it's my firm belief it should be said to the face, clear the air... no need for an audience.
